It goes without saying that VIP points are definitely a good thing at Carbon Poker. After all, you can exchange the points for cash, use them to enter tournaments for free, and get merchandise from the Carbon store. Seeing as how VIP points are so valuable at this site, it’s definitely nice when opportunities arise to collect more of them.
March has brought a great chance to earn more points through Happy Hours running throughout the month. If you’re interested in getting more points than normal, make sure to read about Happy Hours below.
When do Happy Hours take place?
Those looking to earn double points need to play in real money Carbon Poker games on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm (server time). And what’s nice is that it doesn’t matter if you’re playing cash games, SNG’s or MTT’s because any real money game will result in double VIP points.
Make Sure to Opt-in
Don’t forget to opt-in before you start playing poker on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. To opt-in, just visit your Player Admin area and click the ‘Activate Promo’ button. Once you’ve done this, you’ll rack up double points between the designated Happy Hours.
When will Points arrive?
One thing you’ll notice is that the points don’t immediately hit your account upon being earned. However, there’s certainly no reason to panic because the points will be in your account before 2:00am server time the following day.
Also remember that multi-tabling during Happy Hours will help you grab even more points at a rapid rate! So if your multi-tabling skills are up to the task, make sure to play as many tables as you profitably can during the Happy Hours.
When it comes to VIP programs, Carbon Poker has one of the most generous plans in the online poker industry. Players can earn cashback, exclusive freeroll tickets, concierge service, dedicated hosts, and more through the Carbon program.
Assuming you’re interested in all of this, keep in mind that VIP points are the catalyst behind earning the rewards. And those who want to earn accelerated VIP benefits should really focus on the days where they can earn double VIP points. If you’re interested in doing so, you should check out the following information.
Days and Times
Double VIP points are given out on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm server time. In order to receive the extra points on these days/times, you have to be playing real money cash games and/or tournaments – play money games don’t count!
One very important step in all of this is to make sure that you opt into the promotion. After all, if you don’t opt-in, playing during designated hours/days won’t do any good. So make sure to visit your Player Admin area and click “Activate Promo.” When you’ve completed this step, you’ll be ready to start racking up double VIP points.
When do you receive Points
As you begin accruing double points, you may notice that they don’t show up in your account right away. However, don’t panic and send a nasty email to Carbon Support because the points will be in your account by 2:00 am server time the next day.
Don’t forget that if you’re not already a member of this site, you can sign up and deposit to receive a 100% up to $ 600 Carbon Poker bonus.
If you’re looking for some nice online poker promotions in August, 2012, you should know that Carbon Poker is offering double VIP points throughout this month. To take advantage of the double points, you need to visit your Player Admin area and click “Activate Promo.” Of course, you’ll have to be a member of Carbon Poker to do this so keep that in mind. When the promo is activated, you’ll simply need to play poker within the designated time frames, which we’ve explained below.
When you can earn Double Points
Double VIP points are only offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm server time. This gives you a total of 12 hours to collect double points each week in August. Also keep in mind that once you’ve earned the double VIP points, they’ll hit your account by 2:00am the following day.
What can these VIP Points be used for?
Unfortunately, double points that you collect cannot be used to move up in the VIP program. However, they can be used for a number of other great perks such as points-for-cash exchanges, tournament entries, and merchandise from the VIP Store. As for the latter, you can get iPods, computers, flat screen TVs, PlayStation 3s, Xbox 360s, luxury watches, home accessories, gym equipment, golf sets and even live poker tournament prize packages from the store.
Carbon Poker Bonus
Don’t forget that in addition to getting double VIP points this month, new players can also get a 100% up to $ 600 Carbon Poker bonus. To take advantage of the bonus, players simply need to create an account and make a deposit at Carbon. Once they’ve done this, the next step involves earning VIP points through real money cash games/tournaments to unlock the signup bonus.
Once again, Carbon Poker is giving players an opportunity to earn double VIP points. And double points can mean a lot of money since they enable you to collect big bonuses like cash rewards, tournament entries and free poker training. Also, don’t forget that Carbon is currently running the Race for Riches, and double VIP points will help you move up the leaderboard faster, and closer to the $ 2,000 top prize.
Now that we’ve established how Carbon Poker VIP points are definitely a good thing, it’s time to discuss how you can get your double points in July.
The first step that needs to be taken in regards to getting your double points involves opting into the promotion. This is pretty easy since you merely need to visit your player admin area and click “Activate Promo.” Assuming you’re not already a member of Carbon Poker, make sure to sign up and make a deposit; this will earn you the 100% up to $ 600 Carbon Poker bonus.
Dates and Times
Once you’ve opted into the promotion, the next step involves earning your double points through real money cash games and poker tournaments. When you play poker on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between the times of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM (server time), you’ll be earning the double points. Also note that this offer is only good until July 31st, 2012, so hurry and hit the tables!
When Points arrive
Once you begin collecting double VIP points, you may notice that they don’t arrive immediately. But don’t fret because the points will hit your account by 2:00 AM the next day. Also, one important thing to note is that extra points earned during this promo don’t advance you up the tiers for the next month. Of course, seeing as how you can use the VIP points to get yourself a number of great bonuses and rewards, this shouldn’t be too much of a drawback.
Even though summer is starting in the Western Hemisphere and the weather is wonderful, we highly recommend that you stay indoors and play poker more often. Why? Because Carbon Poker is offering double VIP Points until June 30th, 2012. Luckily, we won’t keep you indoors too long earning these double VIP Points because they’re only offered within the following timeframes (all server time):
Wednesday – 11:00am to 3:00pm
Thursday – 11:00am to 3:00pm
Friday – 11:00am to 3:00pm
All you need to do to earn double points is play real money cash games, SNG’s and MTT’s within the designated hours. But before you hit the real money poker tables, make sure to sign up at Carbon and make a deposit first. Once you do this, you’ll be eligible for a Carbon Poker bonus worth up to $ 600.
From here, the next step involves visiting your Player Admin area and clicking “Activate Promo” so that your double points are tracked. This step is extremely important because if you fail to activate the promo, you’ll only be earning VIP Points at a normal rate.
As for when you receive the double points, they’ll hit your account before 2:00am the next day. Once you’ve received the points, you’ll be able to exchange them for cash, enter tournaments for free, and buy merchandise from the Carbon Poker Store.
One more thing that we’d like to discuss is how Carbon Poker is running the Race for Riches promotion throughout June. This promotion is comprised of four different $ 25,000 leaderboard races ($ 100,000 total), and the top 400 finishers on each leaderboard will earn cash. If you’re looking to make some extra cash, hit the real money tables at Carbon and earn VIP Points so that you can move up the leaderboard and on towards big prizes!

The last time we saw Kyle “KJulius10″ Julius, he was heads-up in the PCA Main Event, bluff-shoving his unimproved nine-high into John Dibella’s rivered flush. Although Julius departed the Bahamas with an extra $ 1.5 million in his pocket thanks to a deal, the exiled American pro fell just short of the title. It took him only a little over a month to land at another major final table, where he defeated Australia’s Timothy “weygang” English to win his first Sunday Million title and over $ 177,000. Julius entered the final table as the chip leader and functioned as a one-man wrecking ball, eliminating seven of his eight opponents en route to victory.
Today, PokerStars gave new meaning to the phrase “running it twice.” It was the return of Double Vision Sunday, giving players two shots at every Sunday Major– the Kickoff, the Storm, the Warm-Up, the Million, whatever your poison. Starting thirty minutes after the regular Sunday Million, this special edition “Sunday Million II” drew 5,671 players to the virtual felt, creating a $ 1,134,200 prize pool that easily eclipsed the $ 1M guarantee. 810 places were paid with first place set to pay out $ 177,391.58.
Thirty members of Team PokerStars Pro and Team Online were in the mix and four finished in the money. Spain’s Javier “El_Canonero” Dominguez climbed eight spots above a min-cash on the pay ladder, finishing 487th, while Greek Challenger George “gkap13″ Kapalas (150th), Costa Rican “Chark” Humberto Brenes (125th), and Russian sensation Maxim Lyov (83rd) all cracked the top 150.
Seeing as this Million started half an hour behind the first one, you’d think it would be the last to finish, right? Well, not exactly. Although both tournaments had the same structure, the second Million drew about 2,200 fewer players. Fewer players, faster tournament. The number of players remaining in both tournaments converged with about nine tables to go, and as the beginning of hour ten approached, both fields held at 11 apiece.
Weygang was a 96% favorite to go out on the final table bubble after shoving his [3s][3d] into 26071985′s [Ah][Ac]. With one card to come, the board read [Th][Jh][5c][Tc] and 26071985 needed to fade one of the two remaining threes. It was weygang’s turn to run good, however, and the [3h] spiked on the river to save him and double his stack to 8.8 million.
Instead, bubble boy honors went to camikater, who moved in for his last million in chips with [Ac][Qs] only to run into KJulius10′s pocket aces. No miracles this time and camikater exited in 10th place, setting the final table.
Final table chip counts
Seat 1: DONTSTAKEME (2,073,765 in chips)
Seat 2: p.s.newreg (2,921,847 in chips)
Seat 3: engelberth.v (4,239,060 in chips)
Seat 4: kinamon8 (5,958,250 in chips)
Seat 5: 26071985 (8,327,504 in chips)
Seat 6: padjes (2,128,376 in chips)
Seat 7: KJulius10 (15,914,261 in chips)
Seat 8: weygang (9,097,190 in chips)
Seat 9: vwborat18 (6,049,747 in chips)
Ten hands in, KJulius10 opened for a min-raise to 500,000 and DONTSTAKEME three-bet shoved for 1.98 million from the small blind. KJulius10 called, his [Td][Th] racing with [Ac][Qd]. A king-high board gave KJulius10 his first final table knockout and the 4.4 million pot as DONTSTAKEME departed in 9th place.
Minutes later, a nearly identical situation unfolded. KJulius10 made it 500,000 from under-the-gun, p.s.newreg moved in for 2.07 million and KJulius10 called. This time p.s.newreg had the tens and KJulius10 the [Ah][Qd], a queen hitting the flop to make him top pair. P.s.newreg couldn’t find another ten and was eliminated in eighth place, earning $ 14,177.50.
Padjes surges, KJulius10 sinks
DONTSTAKEME and p.s.newreg’s eliminations left padjes as the table short stack with only 2.12 million in chips and the blinds up to 125,000/250,000. Padjes staked his tournament life on pocket sevens and doubled through 26071985, who called with [Ks][7s] and did not improve. Next, he three-bet shoved for 4 million over 26071985′s opening min-raise, only to have mega-stack KJulius10 re-shove behind him. 26071985 got out of the way, leaving padjes’s [Jc][Jh] up against KJulius10′s [Ad][Qs]. This time the coin fell on padjes’ side, the board running out ten-high to double his stack to 9 million.
KJulius10 didn’t waste much time before doubling up another short-stacked opponent. In a hand that recalled his PCA Main Event bustout, KJulius10 bluffed all-in on the turn with bottom pair, only to run into 26071985′s top two pair:
Weygang whacks vwborat18, engelberth.v eliminated in ugly fashion
Weygang brought 9 million in chips to the final table after his lucky spike on the final table bubble, but saw that stack erode to around 5.7 million before he picked up [Tc][Ts]. With the action folded around to him on the button, weygang opened for 600,000 and vwborat18 three-bet shoved for 5.5 million from the small blind. Weygang called and vwborat18 revealed [8c][9c], a victim of bad timing. The board ran out [Kd][7c][3c][2d][Qd] and vwborat18 was out in seventh place, earning $ 25,519.50 for his troubles (or, as final table hostess Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome put it, “a quarter of a hundred thousand dollars.”)
With only 1.8 million left and the blinds up to 200,000/400,000, engelberth.v had only one move left. After KJulius10 opened for 800,000 on the button, engelberth.v found [Ks][Td] and shoved. KJulius10 couldn’t have been too happy to have to toss in another million with only [6s][Th]… that is until he hit top two pair on the [Ts][6d][3h] flop. The turn was the [4h] and the [6h] on the river boated up KJulius10 and ended engelberth.v’s run in sixth place. $ 36,861.50 should go a long way toward soothing that nasty beat.
Weygang picks up mo’, KJulius10 scores double KO
With five players remaining, KJulius10 still held the chip lead with 18.8 million, weygang, padjes, and 26071985 all sported stacks between 10.6 and 12.5 million, and kinamon8 was on the ropes with only 4 million. Weygang seized momentum when he claimed over 80% of 26071985′s stack, his [Ad][Ks] holding up against [Ac][Qs]. Left with less than 2 million, 26071985 open-shoved with [2s][2d], padjes reshoved for 10 million holding [Ac][8c], and KJulius10 cold-called from the big blind with [Ks][Kc]. The kings held up to win both the main and the side pot, sending both opponents to the rail. 26071985 started the hand with fewer chips and took fifth place ($ 48,203.50) while padjes finished fourth ($ 64,082.30).
Two hands later, kinamon8 moved in for his last 3 million with [Jh][2d] from the small blind and KJulius10 called with [Qs][Td] in the big. A queen hit the flop and kinamon8 was out in third, collecting $ 93,401.37.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 7: KJulius10 (33,587,512 in chips)
Seat 8: weygang (23,122,488 in chips)
Both players were no stranger to the final table of a Sunday Major. Weygang won the Sunday 500 last June for $ 93k and finished fourth in the Million back in April, earning $ 71k. KJulius10 also has a Sunday 500 title as well as a win in the Sunday Supersonic for $ 38k. And while KJulius10 made an early exit from the “regular” Sunday Million, weygang made another deep run, finishing in 114th place.
Weygang struck early, flopping top and bottom pair against KJulius10′s middle pair to double up to 35.2 million and reverse the chip counts. However, never underestimate the poker gods’ sense of humor. Remember how weygang was saved by a three on the river and avoided bubbling the final table? Well, it was payback time, as KJulius10 caught his own two-outer with his tournament life at stake in a 42 million-chip pot:
Weygang was left with 14.8 million after that hand and was unable to recover. After exchanging small pots for a few minutes, KJulius10 opened for a min-raise to 1.2 million and weygang decided to shove with [5d][5s]. KJulius10 called with [Ks][Js]. It looked good for weygang on the [9h][9s][4h] flop and even better when the [4d] hit the turn, but KJulius10 caught another lightning bolt on the river, the [Kd] falling to make him top two pair and seal his Sunday Million victory.
Congratulations to Kyle “KJulius10″ Julius on a dominating final table performance. He banked $ 177,391.58 while runner-up Timothy “weygang” English earned $ 132,134.30.

As you may already know, Carbon Poker has been giving out double VIP points throughout the month of December. But the catch with this is that you need to play in MTT’s and SNG’s on Mondays and Tuesdays to get the VIP points. This being said, we’re running into the last few chances for players to pick up double VIP points this month.
Today and tomorrow are both excellent chances to grab extra VIP points, and you have up until 23:59 (server time) on Tuesday to do this. Following the beginning of this week, next Monday (December 31st) will be your final chance to get the double points.
Assuming you haven’t already opted-in to this promotion, go to your Player Admin area, and click on the “Activate Promo” button. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be earning the double VIP points in December. And it’s definitely worth the effort to earn as many VIP points as you can since Carbon Poker offers so many benefits to VIP Loyalty Program members.
The best thing you can do with the points is exchange them for real money (cashback). Depending on your level within the VIP program, you can really earn a lot of extra money by doing this. For example, if you were at the Ether level, you’d be able to exchange 5,000 points for every $ 60 (35% cashback).
Aside from the cashback, you can also enter poker tournaments for free with your VIP points, which is certainly a nice bonus! So if you’re looking to pick up extra rewards at Carbon Poker, make sure to take advantage of the remaining double VIP points days this month.
If you haven’t been playing online poker much this month, you might want to pick up the pace because Carbon Poker is offering double points throughout the rest of November.
Getting started is easy because you merely need to visit your account and opt-in to the promotion. The next step involves playing MTT’s and/or SNG’s from Monday 00:00 to Tuesday 23:59 because this is when Carbon Poker awards the double points. The extra points will be added to our account before the next day is up.
Once you’ve earned the double points, you can use them to enter poker tournaments, exchange your points for cash, or buy merchandise from the Carbon Poker Store. Just keep in mind though that the double points won’t factor into advancing you up the tiers in the VIP program.
In addition to the double points that are being given away, you should also keep in mind that Carbon is offering $ 10,000 worth of Chip King Freerolls. To take part in this promotion, you need to opt-in to your account and try to earn 50 VIP points as quickly as possible. Assuming you can do this, you’ll be eligible for all of the Chip King Freerolls that run throughout the rest of the month.
What’s really cool about this promotion is that the freerolls grow in size as the month of November rolls on. Here is a look at the remaining freerolls that are offered and their date (all freerolls @ 16:00 server time):
November 20 – $ 2,500 prize pool, qualification period is Nov. 1-18
November 27 – $ 5,000 prize pool, qualification period is Nov. 1-25, only top 50 VIP point earners get in this freeroll.
